| ABOUT
ME |
| I am Jeanna Marie Phillips the daughter of very proud parents
Charlsie and Paul Phillips. I was born in San Antonio Texas on
a beautiful sunny day in 1975. The mid 70’s when radio was
playing “boogie shoes” by KC and The Sunshine Band
and everyone was grooving to “dancing queen” by Abba.
My favorite television shows were Solid Gold, Soul Train and American
Bandstand. I remember listening to a variety of music growing up
from Marvin Gaye to the Rolling Stones, Dolly Parton, Olivia Newton-John
and my moms favorite Motown. My family and I were always singing
and dancing!!! They knew when I was two that I was born to perform.
I would charge them two pieces of candy each to watch my homemade
music videos and living room dance recitals. This was the start
of an entertaining adventure for me!! |
| I got my first role in church. I was a dancing angel in our Christmas
pageant. I knew then that I belonged on stage and couldn't
wait to teach others about what I had experienced. I trained in
tap, jazz, ballet and quickly added hip hop and swing in college.
I choreographed a number of musicals and shows throughout the San
Antonio community. I have performed and choreographed over 60 shows
in the past twelve years. Some past favorite musicals include:
Oklahoma, Bye Bye Birdie, Guys and Dolls, America Sings and Dances
(Prince of Fundy Cruise line), Don’t Touch That Dial, That’s
Entertainment (Kevin Raymond productions Nashville TN) and the
1998 world premier of Fire on the Bayou. Plays: Lend me a Tenor,
Round and Round the Garden, Tourandot (tour), Boys Life, Interruptions
and The Villain was a Bad Guy (Descanso Gardens). I have over ten
years experience with early childhood education. |
I have taught pre-school and been a substitute teacher for over 10 years in Los Angeles,
San Antonio, and Austin. My focus now is on my two most ultimate
passions; people and the arts. I have had such a blessed life and
have been able to travel, sing, dance, train and befriend so many
fantastic people whom I have learned so much from. I would love
the opportunity to pass on all the knowledge I have obtained about
dance, music, self-confidence, self esteem, having fun, art and
loving life!!! This is a bit of who I am. I look forward to getting
to know a bit about you. Together we will find your artist within
and make all of your goals and dreams come true. |
